2 fuel filters

Post by edoh »

one by the fuel tank - as per usual
and one in the engine bay - going out from the fuel pump -
is it so very wrong?
worth changing to not have one there?

this geezer seems to think its a good idea to have 2 -
but i know lots of wise forum heads disagree -

what do you think?

so after watching the little film about bugs....
I'm sticking to one as per wise furum heads.

there is already a second filter in the carb, adding a third would restrict fuel flow in my opinion.
but hey if you think this american fella is right.. :D

Reline line the lot with good quality fuel line and the right sized filter , job done for a few years and you will have piece of mind that the van will not go up in smoke and if you start getting running problems its not the fuel side , unless your fuel tank is a rusty cow pat :ok

I wonder if we should ask Dr Baxter to do some short ' how to ' films..... maybe one on his favourite subject of ' will these wheels fit my van?? '........I am suspecting that a bleep machine may have to be used a few times to spare the more sensitive peoples ears..... :D :rofl

As for a second fuel filter I would replace the original one and fit a second one in the engine bay near the carb, cant see having any issues with 2 fitted, if the pump cant cope with 2 clean filters then I would suspect that its a little tired and should be replaced.

as always - thank you for your comments
think i'll go with renewing the one near the fuel tank and cleaning out the little cone filter in the fuel inlet pipe on the carb -
and giving the one in the engine bay a miss -
thanks again for taking the time to share your take on this -
:ok
