I stayed at Damage Barton the other week just outside of Woolacombe, great location and lovely site. But you have to be in the caravan club or in the camping and caravan club to stay there. Other place that looked nice but was fully booked in August was North Morte farm in Mortehoe.
They're both a bit out of Croyde though, which us I preferred as the road in and out of Croyde is a bit of a pain so when we wanted to be out and about sightseeing it meant we didn't have to be going along it. Its quite a narrow road with passing places, lots of stopping and reversing. On the other hand if you actually want to be in Croyde then a friend of mine says that Cherry Tree Farm is a good site.
