compressing original front springs in order to lower?

Post by cubensis »

So was talking to a guy the other day that mentioned that the shocks should be replaced for better cornering etc. He said the best thing to do with springs is avoid cheap skinny springs and instead re compress the original meaty springs. There is a factory that will heat and compress the springs to the required spring height, this all sound pretty good to me and makes sense in alot of ways - anyone ever done it?

a few (erroneous?) assumptions there maybe

I should think re- 'setting' your original springs is pretty uncommon
