suspension, higher & harder ride sought.

...exactly that, i want my syncro to have better clearance and harder ride.
ive seen the springs and dampers on busman and berndjager, does anyone eles know of other places, brands, vendors to pick something nice up?
and any other advice to do with this is more than welcome...

thought it might help when carrying heavy loads, which i do alot...
often on very windy sites /areas, thought it might cope better when im getting battered.
also i find when im in forests i bounce all over the shop.

You can either fit spacers or Baxter's adjustable AVOs, which are lovely bits of kit. Introducing a spacer or moving the spring platform upwards will give you a noticeably harder ride noticeable for the first few inches of suspension travel. The beauty of adjustable platforms is you can dial in your exact desired height with ease. Before I get flamed, spring pressure increases the more a spring gets compressed, almost right to the point of coilbind. So if you introduce a spacer the spring compresses more, increasing the spring's poundage rating at that given suspension point. So, whether you fit spacers or adjustable platform shocks, your ride will feel firmer than before.

Errrrr, are you sure that's right?
If you have a compressing force of one ton, a spring will compress by a set about.
If you then add a 20mm spacer & have a compressing force of one ton, the spring will compress the same amount But your bus will sit 20mm higher because of the spacer.
The spring won't compress anymore as the wieght is the same. Simples!

Take a valve spring for instance. At installed height of 1.6 inches it may be putting out 140 odd lbs of pressure. Compress the same spring by half an inch to 1.1 inches installed height and the force goes up to around 280 lbs at that installed height. Vehicle springs work on the same principle.

when im changing the shocks and springs, are there any bushes that are easier to change when the suspension is off OR any other jobs i should be considering when doing so?

baxters front and rear avo`s and if its heavy siekel springs. i haven`t got the seikels as cash is not plentyfull atm but the avo`s are very good. fronts are adjustable for height so you can go as high as you need with them and spacers for the rear.

the beauty with the avo`s is that you can turn the van from super comfy to very firm and sporty in 2 minutes. its like having 2 vans.

baxter does new syncro springs i`m sure they will be a big improvement on the old springs you have. heavyduty 2wd springs will give a lift on a std platform strut but their not required with the avo`s as they can be adjusted for height aswell as damping.

as i mentioned before seikel springs are very well regarded and will be firmer " some say too firm " especially on a lightweight syncro.

henning as trailmaster springs listed which are progressive " best of both worlds " but i`ve not heard any reports on them yet.

bear in mind you will loose articulation off road with stiff suspension. ok if you have 2 diff locks.

i think axeman on here as seikel springs and i think russel uses them also.
