Battery losing charge.

Post by dannybook »

Hi everyone. Recently found my 2 year old battery was not holding its charge. I returned it under its generous 3 year guarantee and got a new one. Fitted it, drove the van, went to start it today, NO CHARGE!!! Argh!!!! Has anyone else has this problem? I dont believe its the alternator as it charges after a jump start. Just wont hold it. Seems something is draining it even though nothing obvious is left on. Thanks!

Hi i had the same thing happen to me when i bought a new battery so i took my van to an auto electrition and he tested the new battery and found that one of the cells was knackered so i took it back and the garage gave me a new one and it has been ok since.Hope this helps.

I did that and got a new one and the problem is still there. Surely both batteries cant be knackered!!! I bloody hope not.

You have a short somewhere.

what about disconnecting the battery for a few days then try again, just to eliminate the battery being duff
