Snowdon Campsite recommendations
Off to Snowdon for the week before bank holiday wknd, any recommendations?
I've done a search but there aren't many suggestions on here apart from one near Llanberis pass that i'm trying to work out the name of from http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/calcd ... =-3.866049" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Then down to the Gower, staying at Hillend Camping Park nr Rhossili - anyone stayed there?
Cheers, DanO

There are two great sites in the Ogwen Valley just off the A5. They are little more than hill farms but very comfortable for all that and I've never known them to be too crowded. They are situated right under Tryfan in a dramatic spot. Ideal for climbing and walking.
They are Gwern Gof Ischaf and Gwern Gof Uchaf. Uchaf is probably more T25 friendly. You can google both of them to get an idea of what they look like and where exactly they are. Have fun - we are off there the week before you!

Tanaeldroch is a lovely quiet campsite; fires are allowed as are dogs (if on a lead) its a bit more secluded than the other 2 farms recommended although they are nice too; its basic with only a few toilets and water points but it is really clean (my cousin in law is the groundsman
). Its about 3 miles south of Betws-y-coed in ponty pant
DolGam is also a nice base for Snowdon - its in Capel Curig (you can see it from the main A5)
enjoy your holiday

Cheers guys, thanks!! I'll have a look at those as well. Hope it wont be too hot or too wet,as we're climbing with our nearly 3yr old........but it's Wales and the mountains so we'll take whats coming
My map was a bit south, found it now - http://www.gwynant.com/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/revie ... revid=3010" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) is the one I was looking for.

There is a forestry commission site just outside Bedgellert. Great for accessing Snowdon via the Miners Track rather than the train

Llyn Gwynant is pretty cool. Enjoyed it very much and it would have been better had the weather not been so welsh.
Allow campfires (off the ground jobies can be rented) too which is nice...
Great little spot actually - i thoroughly recommend it.
