240v cable rating/colour

Post by poshbuggers »

Any ideas what spec cable I should be using in my van?

I went to B&Q get some today and was baffled by the choice of ratings and some of the horrendous prices. What appeared to be labelled as suited to a caravan / motorhome was some 'Arctic' stuff (blue cable) at £35

I'm running an external hookup socket with a standard 63A RCD master and 16 and 6a trips.

Will a length of normal external hookup cable (the orange stuff) do?

I have my hookup cable from van to site - that's sorted.

Do you think I can use the length of cable from one of these?

We don't use it anymore having upgraded from tent to van.

Waste of a good cable, but in my most humble of opinions it would be 'wonderfull'
