Hook up confusion and Zig lights!

Post by katnive »

Hi all, hoping you can help!

We are confused with our hook-up in our van - 1990 LeisureDrive HiTop. Even though we are hooked up to the mains, at the moment we are only getting the red 'low power' indicator on the Zig CP400 Unit. Does the Zig Unit only measure the charge left in the Leisure battery? I'm sure we have had the green light illuminated when we hooked up before. There is definitely power to the van from the mains as we've just boiled the kettle from the plugs inside the van to test it!

Does the leisure battery get charged through the Zig unit, and therefore if we leave it plugged in, it will eventually illuminate green?

Thanks in advance

CP400 zig unit is merely a switch baord with fuses for turning on the interior lights/water pump/ or whatever is wired to the leisure battery . It has nothing to do with 240v hook up or charging leisure battery from hookup. It's a very basic board.

Basically it is telling you your leisure battery charge is too low and that won't change until you drive and charge it up.........unless you have a battery charger you can connect to your 240v plus sockets and charge the battery up. Occassionally Aldi/Lidl sell them cheap and they do a good job

Thankyou! We are learning as we go along! Suspected the Zig unit only showed the status of the Leisure battery, but we weren't sure.

I love this forum :)
