hose missing?

Post by edoh »

the new dg lump (recon) is in and ticking over -
so that's what a shiny engine looks like!

while checking out the underneath right hand drivers side - right at the back - noticed what looks like an upturned empty part of the exhaust? does this need a hose on it? - going up to the engine compartment? the one behind - from memory - goes up to the engine bay -
any ideas from the people?

thanks in advance -

It's a dark and mysterious place under there.

Mines like that too, I think it's s'pose to feed warm air to the airbox but I think it genreally doesn't matter.

Yes, think thats normally it, very cold days, assists smooth running, faster warmups (and prevents carb icing ?)

it is as was said above to send warmer air to the air intake, its not needed, not even in our coldest temps..... dont worry about it, most dont even have it , the heat exchanger bit on the zorst rots and rattles, and gets removed.
