Full Throttle

Post by albertramsbottom »

Emmmm

I dont think im getting full throttle on me van as it wont go much more than 60.

\when i push the pedal down as far as it can go, I have noticed that the carb mechanisium is only two-thirds the way open, and the balance bar can be pushed at least another inch or so. Is this right?

Should the carbs be right open when the throttle is right down? or should there be some movement left on the carb mechanism?

Cheers

Can you accelerate up to the marks on your speedo??

If so i would imagine you are getting full throttle.

I have a 2 litre Aircooled and 65-70 seems to be about it really depending on gradient lol.

Are you fully laden too?? that my have something to do with it.

full throttle should open carbs wide open.

adjust or replace your (stretched cable) 85mph is achievable.

There is a a linkage under the pedal that is adjustable. I find it easier to remove the indicator assy to access and adjust the linkage. Details and tolerances are in the Haynes manual IIRC.
