Help please if you know anything about electric fuel pumps!!

Hi all,gave my van a full service today, with included changing the fuel filter.

I changed the filter andwhen i switched my facet posiflow fuel pump on it began clicking louder than before and the fuel filter isnt filling up.

Does anyone know what i have done wrong?? I am presuming that its clicking louder because its "dry" but how do i rectify this??
