Hi Everyone,
Anyone got experience of fitting the rear seatbelt kit from JK? including location of top mount that needs welding in place?
1.I've read panel vans didn't ship with top mount and instead you get a diple where the mount would be.ok... but there are more than one in that area.
2. the belt from JK says FRONT SEAT BELT on the box but they told me its correct. It ships with metal stalk buckle AND belt fabric only buckle. They said they sell tonnes of them with no probs.
3. they also said the top mount can be welded via the air vent to keep it neat but the rear of the dimple can't be seen through the vent.
4. In their photocopied installation photos the belt coil and top mount look almost vertical over each other but in my van the top mount would be about 10-15 cm closer to the rear of the van. Their images are not from panel conversion I would say going by the text in the instructions.
5. local VW garage said it should have an arrow on the coil housing to indicate which side it should go on if its a rear belt and that the belt wasn't suitable and I should try GSF.
Before I cut a hole in my beloved van and make a mistake, can someone post a photo or describe how theirs was fitted including £'s for welding etc? Again, this is fitting for the panel van conversion T25s.
I'm refitting the intrior to my T25 Panel Conversion hopefully in time for 2 weeks in France in... 2 weeks.
When I'm done I'll post all the photos I've taken. SO far super insulation, new floor, door cards, 95% complete unit including sink, hob, grill.... All the electricals to do this coming week too.
