Can any one tell me where the needle point at normal running mine is just at the bottom of the little red light isthis right Thanks Simon .

about ok,any where around horizontal,although as long as it stays whereever it is is ok!

Sounds ok to me, mine sits just under half way between the red light and nowt, very very occasionally does it go up to sitting fully over the red light and only after sitting in traffic for a while........

Like Billy said, as long as its not moving up and dowm all the time its fine.

I reckon that's ok as that's where it's always indicated on mine and as a back up I fitted a combined gauge for oil press, volts and water temp and that indicates about 88degrees c for water temp. (Which is pretty normal)
Mine's a 1.9td but I reckon water temps going to be fairly similar.

my jx 1.6 td sits just slightly above the red light and fluctuates a little either way on hills and in cooler weather.

my 1.6td sits either dead centre or slightly to the left of warning light..
