hi can anybody tell me vw's recomendations for oil change intervals for a 1.6td transporter (jx)....cheers all :D

I would agree with that. The oil on the poor buggers has a lot of cooling to do. I change mine every 5000 kms (3000 miles) I buy it in 25 litres drum 15w40 for £28.00. But its not the top quality stuff and my engine has the weight of a westy to pull. :)

tis 5000 miles, mine needs doing, but I have to find the source of an oil leak and get a new dipstick first

This was specified by VW every 5000 , don't forget it needs at least VW 505.000 oil, not Wilko stuff :roll:
Also get proper oild filter from GSF/VW :roll:
Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
