New Trailmaster syncro springs

Post by jebiga41 »

Henning is now stocking these at http://www.syncro-services.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; designed especially for the syncro. around 550 euros a set
from the site
"Trialmaster-springs for front progressive springs for 14" and 16" Syncros, raises the syncro by approx. 30-40mm, 1. progression reaches up to 2000Kg weight of vehicle, after that the next progression level is reached, this assure comfortable drifing and best offroad capability. The set-up of the springs is specially designed for Syncros without heavy camping interior, further variations for heavies vehicles are under development."

just enquired about them last night and Henning told me
"The springs available are manufactured for cars up to ~2000 KGs. I think that they would be fine for up to 2300 Gs as well (300Kg additional vehicle weight, as it is just 75Kgs per spring, like an average drivers weight). Another series will be available in approx. 8 weeks for heavier syncros. We´re discussing it with the manufacturers to come up with a proper weight range, I´m thinkin about a set for 2300 to 2600 KGs and one for "above 2600KGs". Let´s see."

If you remember at 25 there was a guy who broke a set of seikels in Mongolia due to spring bind caused by the gaps being to small in the centre of the rear seikels, he had to drive out of the gobi desert on lumps of wood held in place with ratchet straps. The trailmasters were developed due to this and to compliment their longer shocks. Nothing to do with go westy and the co who makes them for go westy are tied into an exclusive contract with Go Westy. Well that's All I've been able to sus out hope it's of help.

Would like to speak to the chap who broke his Set of seikles.Do you have his name by any chance.
The trailmaster rear springs look like they have the same gap in the centre as the seikles. The front are much tighter wound at one end than seikles.
Will have to try them at some point to see wot they are like.

Sorry russel no idea henning would know though. Might be worth emailing him I know definately that the winding is different to the seikels on the ones he had at 25, in fact the windings were different all through the spring from what I remember, Clive had a look at them as well I think as I dragged him down to show him, inaddition to sexy wheel carriers god I'm turning into an engineering nerd

Yes Paul, I remember, though had chatted with the fella earlier about them... always been looking for a proper set of springs

Henning is the man to talk to in detail about the history of the breakages and their development, it would seem
