T25 Electrolux RM212F fridge and others

Hi,

This is my first time on the forum and our first time owning a T25! We're looking for advice on how to deal with a few problems that we've come across whilst we went away for our first weekend in her.

1. We've got a 3 way RM212F fridge and it doesnt go cold at all. It meant no cold beer at all on such a lovely weekend With gas, the gas lighter is firing up ok and its hot on the outside but the fridge is still not going cold. On electric, 240 and 12v its not going cold at all. Do you think it could be the thermostat or element? How would we go about getting it fixed ourselves? Or would you advise taking it to a mechanic/engineer? We're in the Nottingham area.

2. We had an electric hook up at the campsite and the only thing it seemed to help was power to the plug socket and nothing else. Should it not charge up the battery? If yes, is there anything we can do?

3. Lights - we can only have one light on at a time as the battery kept going onto red. How do we get round this?

Whatever help you can give will be really appreciated.

Try taking the fridge out and turning it upside down and leave it that way overnight and try it back in, sometimes works, worth a go?
It may have been standing a while and this helps getting the fluid inside moving again.

That depends on your conversion! as some were not graced with mains chargers.
Mine just powers the plug socket too

Well you can do a number of things..
Check that the Aux battery is receiving an adequate charge from the alternator (13.8V to 14.2V)
Check that the Aux battery is not shagged out. Charge it on a battery charger over night till fully charged, then leave it to sit... it should not drop below 12.6 V after twelve hours.
then let us know what's happening.
My money's on a fuse or shagged Aux batt

mungo.....what conversion do you have? mains can charge the batteries but the conversion would need to have a Zig unit or some sort of charger.
Whilst you have the fridge out give it a thorough blow with an airline and using a strand of wire (out of a wire brush) poke and clean the gas jet. Also make sure the ignighter electrode hasn't erroded away (it can be bent closer if some of the electrode has disapeared) my guess would be that it needs to be around 1-2mm gap.
I'm in Nottingham too so any advice...
