gas cylinders

is there any reason why a 7kg butain cyilender can not be laid on its side, ie located under a rock and roll bed? i wil be staping it down so that is will not be siding around that goes with out say but i cant frind any info as to if it is safe to do so or not.

i would say it is not safe to use a upright cylinder on its side, as the take off will be in the liquid. You require the vapour, which gathers at the top of the liquid.

Have you ever shaken a blowlamp when its lit?

as steve says you want the gas which is above the liquid. very unsafe to use bottles on there side unless they're either air or oxygen

Fork lift bottles are designed to be used on there side (if you look at the bottom it has an up arrow facing to one side.) But I don't know if one would fit under a rock n roll bed.

They use lpg as a liquid not a gas so still no good!

it's the same reason you have to have an extra top outlet on lpg conversion tanks if you wish to use them for liesure gas too

Gasure leisure tank is a horizontal type, and would fit under a r&r bed. You can't just turn a tank upside down and expect it to work. One take off will be for gas, one for liquid. Read the side of the bottle, they are even meant to be stored upright, when not in use, i wouldn't try and use it for a purpose it's not designed for.
As above, Gasure tank would suit your purpose very well

Can we just clear something up this was a purely theoretical question. I was not suggesting at any point that this was either practical or smart.
