split charging problem fuses blowing

Have a split charging set up with a voltage sensitive relay and two in line fuses system was working ok before but since changing engine and alternator its blowing fuses at the engine end its running an old jx alternator would it be the alternator output thats blowing the fuses which are 35amp ?

i would be checking connections are correctly installed , fuses blow for a reason..

charge the leisure battery fully with a mains charger, and see if it still does it, sometimes if the leisure battery is very flat the fuses cant handle the draw.
