td glow plug led and flashing red led problem.

Post by devoncamperman »

Hi, i have a van that has been converted from petrol aicooled to aaz. Everything fine but managed to get a dash with a rev counter, the old dash was petrol and i installed a Led for the glow plugs using 12v from the glow plugs to the led. The problem now is the new dash is diesel and requires a earth from somewhere as the other end of the the led is 12v tagged to the oil light etc. When i switch on now the light is off and when the glow plugs go off the light comes on. Does anyone know where the earth comes from to switch the light on.

Also my old dash was broken (temp led), Now wanted to get everything working properly, i have connected the LSCU module (relay 43) hard wired it as Aircooled was never fitted. I have connected a 12v ign to pin 15, earth to pinn 31, wire from level sender to S and the wire from temp sender to G this wire also connects to the dash pin 6 on the dash. (temp gauge).
The problem is when it starts the led flashes all the time, all sensors are new so i suspect either the LSCU i got is no good or i have the wiring wrong.

Does anyone know if the above is right??? I really want to get this sorted, i have not even wired the rev counter to the alternator yet just want to sort these problems.

Hello,

apologies for editing this post - just reread yours and understood what you meant. Your glow plug light should be earthed through the timer relay (pin L). I'm not completely sure which wire it is from the multipin connector to the PCB for your van and dash. On my old van which was converted to diesel from petrol, I ran a wire from pin L to the front of the van and connected it to the earthing wire for the glow-plug led, pin 14.

Not sure about how to further diagnose module 43 I'm afraid - I see you've already had the experts on to this one!
