Whilst carrying out an oil change last week the spring and ball in the filter head fell out!
My understanding is that if the filter becomes blocked the spring and ball opens a system to allow the filter to be bypassed. I am presuming that as it stands at the mo this wont happen with mine. I change my oil and filter every 3000 miles religiously so the filter shouldn't really be a problem.
My question really is should I get a replacement in the longterm, or can I leave it? If I leave it is it likely to cause any problems? If I need a replacement any idea's where I might get one?
