Side window - gap between inner and out skin.

Thin bits of metal and bright blue light.

Side window - gap between inner and out skin.

Post by damesb »

There is a gap between the inner skin and outer skin where rear side windows are fitted. Hard to describe but you can kindof make it out in the picture. Is this normal or is something normally bridging this gap? I intent to upholster the whole interior at some point and as I'll be taking the windows out soon thought I'd check whether there's anything worth doing to "The Gap!"

Cheers.

This gap is quite normal, obtain some door seal rubber from the scrap yard and fit it so the seal part fills the gap, it finishes off the edge and solves your problem of having a gap

You can buy a plastic piece that tidies that up, sort of like a flalse inner window surround.
Some panel van conversions have them.

Nice idea. Will certainly look much better than what's there at the moment. Some of the edges are serrated
