missing a gasket ?

Dear all,

my 1982 1.6 d (non turbo) engine weeps "tears" of oil from the joint between the plastic filler tube and the aluminium elbow joint.

I have pinched up the allen bolts but still weeps and I dont want to crack the plastic pipe casing

I have not had the joint apart yet - should there be a gasket between the two ? if not I am going to try some hylomar/hermitite gasket in a tube...

Just a rubber O ring 44mm X 3.5mm
