Anyone in Uk doing 15mm/20mm spring spacer/lift kit?

Post by KarlT »

Hi.
Just wondering who else is doing spacer kits? I know Henning is but just wondering if anyone this side is selling them. Help our economy & save hassle with that funny Euro thing!
Thoughts on quality would be good to.

I`ve fitted a sample set to my van on a 30mm lift, but having to find ways to stop shocks topping out at the back without major cost. Have a few ideas, and hope to bring a few options to market within a month or so.

What sort of lift do people want? 20,30 or 40?

I got mine from Henning along with his rear long shocks. No problems with CV joints binding or anything.

For rears all you need id a hard nylon. I made a set of 30mm rears by using the pad that the fella from the builders merchants put under his crane feet and left behind after a delivery of plastering sand. I just used the rubber bit on the top of the spring as a template. The fronts are abit more involved, the syncroservices are a cast metal ans a weird shape too. If you can just buy the fronts your laughing.

I got my 20mm kit from Henning and have only fitted the rears up to yet. Front end gets done this week :D

Some issues with bearing/driveshaft noise but I guess this is either worn shafts or bearings needing another crack down. :?

My van is very light at the moment (81.5cm from floor to arch at the rear on standard 185R14C tyres) which may also account for it (high angle, unusual bearing positions etc) so I might just bite the bullet and go with some 944 CV joints and new bearings to be safe.

left shotts at 1 am on tues morning and stopped for diesel in exeter at 8.15 am! not bad with a trailer. in lands end about 11.45. forgot all about the spacers! check tomorrow(promise!) got a guy with an old front loader to lift up the back and wound it on with a winch! sitting in yard at home waiting til i decide what options the parts go to! got enough parts on it to sort at least 3 vans of my own!

These give about a 20mm lift on a Syncro.
They have the internal safety lip also to keep the upper insulator in place, something the German ones I have seen negate.
