Urgent! Need to borrow an exhaust CO analyzer!

Post by silverbullet »

I'm running in my Gasure conversion (600 miles already) but the mixture has clearly drifted off, as Steve said it would. Stalling at tickover, the odd backfire etc.
I'd hoped to borrow a mate's Blue Point/Snap-On one (0.1% accurate) but some bu66er's gone and nicked it from his tool store
I need to set the CO to 2.3 - 2.4% to run correctly and not wreck the valves/seats...
Anyone? I'm in Woking, Surrey but will travel a reasonable distance.
PS a Gunson one won't do, they're just not accurate enough, but I would use one at a pinch.

Still need one! I've been asking around but no-one's offering  I think that it's running far too rich on LPG (quite whiffy at idle when hot)

I think you might be better off asking a small but friendly garage to put it on their guage for you and you adjust it there and then. Problem is, accurate ones tend to cost a pretty penny and unlikely to be lurking in many garden sheds.

I'll have to chat up my local garage. I wanted to borrow a 12v one to check it on the move and under full load to make sure it's not going lean.

Unless someone's prepared to loan me an O2 meter like an Innovate LM1
I'll still have to weld a boss on the exhaust for the lambda but that's the least of it. Better than a melt-down or an exploded filterbox
