Aerial on the 'A' pillar

Post by liliball »

My vans been repaired in the front offside corner at some time and I'm guessing thats when the aerial was removed and a scabby white plastic covered spring type aerial was fitted on the nearside front panel. I want to fit an original item again where it should be on the 'A' pillar, can anyone give me the dimensions of where it should be positioned on the pillar based on their own fitment. Also, any ideas where the aerial cable is routed out of the pillar as I can't see any obvious gaps for it to come out and route behind the dash.

Cheers.

Cheers gents, I stand corrected. Been looking at loads of photos and can see the original fit now. Mine was fitted in a totally random place for some reason and is now languishing in the bottom of the dustbin. I just have a hole to fill now as its in the wrong place.

I did exactly the same thing and bought a Brickwerks one. If you buy one of theirs, make sure you ask for the fitting template. Also, my van didn't have the hole punched to allow the base of the aerial's mast to go through, though there is one all ready on the n/s. So, you will need to drill a large enough hole for this and also to fit a grommet too. Other than that, its easy to do

The thing is Rob, i would of done that in the first place if my Syncro had an original front mounted one, but it don't, it has an aftermarket A Piller type :)
