T25 virgins wanting camper!
Hi there,
We are camper virgins and are desparately wanting to find a t25 camper- preferably a newer model, 4 berth and a pop-top. We particularly like the way the villa models pop top works, but aren't having much luck finding one. We've been looking at other types, and wondered if anyone might be able to advise on the plus and minus points of a devon pop up, or any others- my husband seems to think that as it's canvas it'll be much colder? we have a 7 month old baby and she'll be sleeping in that area so it needs to be as warm as poss. Also, we're wondering about a left hand- drive. There seem to be far more of these about, but the camper may become my 'car' too so wondering how it'll feel driving it around on british roads?
Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks! K, S +L

Hi there,
I wouldn't rule out hightops either if I were you, they get very toasty due to solid roof and great for all those extra bits of stuff that kids accumulate...
Our one is carpeted and it gets really warm up there, and its airy inside whilst driving about too.
Top speed is about 65 comfortably and haven't seen that many car parks I can't get into.
They all look a bit special but you just have to embrace your inner mr whippy!

Left hand drive is great! It's much easier to park - friends get really impressed when I can reverse park a massive van, but don't realise it's because I'm sitting right next to the kerb!
The only issue is overtaking- you can't see out into the middle of the road without actually pulling right out. But obviously this is only an issue with REALLY slow things like tractors - the rest of the time you'll be the one with a queue stuck behind you!
I drive up and down a single-lane 'A' road all the time - it's the A75 to Stranraer ferry port so it's full of lorries - and being LHD honestly is no bother. To be honest it just makes you feel more like you're on holiday! And it made no difference to the insurance premium, but that might be because it has a UK registration plate.
Of the vans I looked at, the LHD were often in better condition because they had been looked after/serviced to such a high standard by efficient Germans before being imported...

We have a lhd and love it. Only problem not mentioned is paying bridge tolls and parking gates, but wife handles that from passenger seat.
