Desperatley need help-Windows question for my resto project

Post by benross »

Hi all,

Im really hoping somebody can help me.

My T25 is a conversion- I dont know who did it etc and not seen one like it before. It has been fitted with what appear to be caravan windown- double glazed perspex.
Ive been restoring it and had to do a lot of work on the rotten window frames and now im ready for some new windows.

My problem is I can not find any windows that will fit. The caravan type windows that have come out are (2x) 1000mmx400mm and (2x) 900mmx400mm. The windows fit into the appetures cut into the bodywork, then screw to the bodywork. The seal is between the flat bodywork of the van and the outer window frame if that makes sense?

Does anyone know of any alternative windows that will fit, or who might be able to help me? Ive been to a 'caravan specialist' who said that the windows have not come from a caravan as they are the wrong size but I havent a clue and im really struggling. I got quoted a price of £260 per window to have new ones made, without frames or seals- obviously not worth it.

Would any other standard windows fit?
Does anyone deal with caravan/motorhome breakers that may help?
Anyone manufactur windows to suit?
Any help at all would be hugely appreciated,

Ben

Could they be windows from an earlier bus (bay/split etc) or from something like a narrowboat?.....
It is by will alone that I set my 'van' in motion!

http://Www.leisurevehiclewindows.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will cut glass to fit.
Also look in yellow pages for a plant glass fitter. They fit flat laminated glass to diggers etc on site and will give you advice.
NO PIES CAKES OR BEER LEFT IN THIS VAN OVERNIGHT.
