Heater cables

Has anyone lubed their cables........ooh matron.
I spent ages sourcing a new cable for my heater after I bent one because it was stiff and had to remove the dash ect to do it properly, then blow me one of the others has bent and I have to sort of hold it whilst moving the slider,I can't even put the facia back on because of it.
All mine seem pretty stiff and surely they aren't or wern't that stiff when new.
Any ideas or solutions.....

I've never had to do it myself but maybe a squirt of '3 in 1' and a few back and forths to spread it out a bit, leave overnight and see how it is?

No I have a really stiff one as well (especially at this time in the morning).

Mine's all bent and floppy I need to fiddle with it a bit though

I've no experience of the cables on a T25, but I have fitted Bowden cables to control hydraulic systems on boats etc. If the cable is stiff when fitted make sure the clamps securing the outer cable are just tight enough to stop the sheath moving, not so tight that they are gripping the inner cable as well. Also some control cables have a "nylon" liner so they don't need lubrication, oiling them can cause the liner to swell and jam the cable.
