Hi, I have a 1982 leisurdrive high top and I would really like to convert it to a pop top, (ideally a Viking) is this possible? Does the hole in the tin roof line up with the pop top ok? Any info on this would be great thank you.

Re: Viking conversion
As far as I know the hole on the vast majority of these vans are within a gnats chuff of each other because the hole size is limited by the 'B' and 'C' pillar roof cross members as these are structural and cannot be cut through without compromising the overall body strength. Plenty of people on here have gone from pop top to high top (and to a much lesser extent vice versa) so it must be possible although I haven't done it myself. If you do a 'Search' you might throw up some old threads on the subject...

Re: Viking conversion
I've just converting an Autohomes into a Viking. The hole in the Autohomes roof was slightly larger than the viking hole which is made up of L-shaped steel angles. I hade to get a couple of extension pieces made up. (See photo attached) Worked a treat. Then once you fit all the pieces that come with the viking roof on the inside of the van it hides the differences with the original hole size
There are also a couple of Viking roofs on ebay. Viking roofs are fantastic, so much space
Cheers

Re: Viking conversion
Thanks for that, my van is a leisuredrive high top so not sure how it compares to the hole on yours? Are the Viking roofs relatively straight forward to fit? Are they difficult to get water tight?
Thanks, Toby
