Strange question!!!

Will a early DG 1.9 water pump and thremostat housing fit a 2.1??? If yes, is the 1.9 cooling system capable of cooling a 2.1 or are there other issues.
Basically! I have a 2.1 and need the shortest route to fitting it in to my 1.9. I'm not using the injection system as it will be running on LPG through a carb

from what little I know about this (and it is little) the ancilliaries will swap straight over, water pump and all, you can even stick your old 1.9 carb on it.

Hi Pete,

Now I know why you wanted to see what the camper could do.....

For those not in the know, Pete changed our 1.9 for 2.1 - but it came with all the ancillaries! And its running on carbs on LPG!)

Seriously, hope it all works as well as Ermie does - she is now on the road daily, clocking up the miles, and performing really well! Job well done. Now to see if we can get the heater to stop being constantly hot!!

erm, i have been running a 2.1 on the early cooling sys for about 3 years now, no issues, and on lpg with a carb...... works a treat, carb needs a tad of setting up for the other stuff tho...... i did mine, now have no flat spots, and no petrol either!
