Anyone know where I can get an analogue clock repaired?
I have two busted ones and doubt I can find a working replacement without spending millions on a complete replacement clockset

Re: Analogue clock repairs
In answer to your question - no. I had a busted clock but when I checked the clock wasn't getting 12v. The flexi pcb tack had cracked. I by-passed the flexi with a bit of cable and plugged directly on the clock.
Worth a check?

Re: Analogue clock repairs
Thanks but I have tried all that. I have run both a direct feed from the fuse box and a new return but still no joy, Seems a shame to bin them for what might be a minor fault in the clock.
I might try pulling one of them apart - nothing to lose!

Re: Analogue clock repairs
Hi Bill
I used to fix analogue clocks for "Type 3 Detectives" a good few years ago now.
They would send me broken clocks and I would strip them out and replace the old mechanism with a mechanism that you
find on the back of most modern clocks. I would araldite the hands to the new clock shaft and fix it all back together.
This means your repaired clock will have to work on a AA battery but they last ages so no big deal.
The clocks look exactly the same from the front and are very accurate.
Might be worth you trying this way as it is not too difficult.
Good Luck
Jay

Re: Analogue clock repairs
I long ago switched to a time-conrolled digital clock (LIDL/ALDI bargain) that velcros on to the dash but can be put in the back as a regular alarm clock. Really, the analogue clock space is better ultised for something else unless you're a purist.

I have a working internal clock mechanism available but you would need to use your existing clock face and hands. PM if you are interested I don't want much for it.
