i am half way through removing the high top from my van ready to fit a pop top roof i have
having taken out all the cupboards and ply basically the hi top is just sealed to the gutters with mastic and not held on with anything else ( at one point where the mastic is coming away you can puch the side of the hi top a good inch away from the van).
the bedboards and ply lining was on top of a bit of a heath robinson wooden frame (all sorts of wedges poked under bits of wood to get it level) which were just screwed (self tappers) through the roof. I now have about 30 holes in my roof, is this a problem when i fit the new pop top (which i believe just screws onto the roof) or should i do anything about these holes first???
also there is a loom of wiring coming through the tin roof and then back down again !!! do you think i should find what this is for and try and re route it before fitting the pop top or just work around it??
dont know if anyone has attempted the same but any tips or advice for when fitting the new roof would be greatly appreciated
