What's wrong with my fridge?

Post by mr_bricolage »

I have the Dometic 182 fridge. It only works on Gas. It used to work on 12v but not on electrics, but now it only runs on 12v with motor turned off. If I start her up the green fridge light goes out and it stops working. Its a pain as I didn't mind it not working on 240v but this really makes a difference as driving around now causes a problem. Suggestions please?

It does rather sound like the fridge relay is doing the wrong thing. Fridge relay should cut 12v to the fridge when the engine isn't running so you don't kill the battery.

Time to pull the fridge out and see what's going on then. The relay is on top of the fridge right?

my fridge relay is under the drivers seat. I know that 'cause that's where I put it. What conversion is yours? Maybe somebody with the same type can tell you where to look.

Under the drivers seat tucked well forward probably
