Climair wind deflectors

Post by Cruz »

Picked up a very cheap pair of climair wind deflectors and fitted them today. Took a bit of effort to get them in as they are a very tight fit. However I now need a tin of spinach every time I want to close the windows. Had I not changed the winders to stronger Audi winders I would probably of broken the original spec window winders.

Any tips on making it easier to close the window? Or will it get easier with time?

Do you mean make them a bit thinner at the sides?

It seems to be the quarter light bar side that's tight right at the top

Climair list two different types for T3, same years - which is which? It doesn't obviously say...opening or fixed quarterlights maybe?

Mine were fitted last week and they are very very stiff to fit but winding the window is not hard.

The box said VW Bus 1980-1989

They are the right ones and fit perfectly it's just the last inch when winding up the window that's stiff. I will probably shave a bit off the side faces where the window slides up against the deflector

I have taken mine off now, for the above winder problems, also I don't like looking through them, and they seem to make no difference to wind noise that I can discern. I might have a go at re fitting them at some point, but they are flawed in that the plastic sits where the glass has also to sit, not enough room for both. Needed constant tweeking to keep on.
