WELDING COSTS

Post by woody1977 »

I know the price can vary greatly from place to place, but how much roughly, should it cost to have two new front arches welded on and a jacking point welded up?

was hoping for a friend of a friend of a friend was gonna do it, but i've been let down, so need to think about alternatives.

thanks,
Matt.

Welding Costs

Post by Bowton Lad »

Hi Matt,

Yesterday I had a small plate welded just in front of the o/s jacking point at a cost of £30.00 + vat. I don't actually know who did the welding as Westhoughton VW in Bolton took my van elsewhere as they don't do welding. (W/H VW were doing several other jobs on the van)
Hope you find somewhere local to you who will do welding at a reasonable price. :D

CHEERS makes me feel a little less worried about what i need done..

just gotta try to find a decent welder locally.

might even have a go at the arches with father in law, and let a pro do the stuff underneath.

I recently had plates welded in near all 4 jacking points, one on the passenger footwell and one under the drivers rear wheelarc for the MOT

Cost me £120 cash in hand at a place across the yard from Manchester Aircooled (as they were booked solid)

Look in the yellow pages under 'mobile welders' if cash is an issue - they're cheaper because less overheads. Otherwise try and find someone via recommendation - like painting, all bodywork needs to provide the finish you want......(or want to pay for)....
