New Engine

Post by sunny »

Following all the issues with breaking down at the weekend I have had a guy look at the engine and said its more that likely to be the big end brearings as I quickly started the van he said that it shuddered very heavily and sounded very deep, not tappets!

I think the best option is to get a new engine. :cry:

Do you have any advice as to where the best place is to go for the engine. I need a CU 2000cc Aircooled.

Cheers

Hi Mate

I read somewhere on a site recently that there is a few NOS type 4 motors still in crates kicking about.
Had a quick search but can't find the link at the moment but worth a hunt some one here might know who's selling them.

Don't waste your time searching for a new 2.0L air cooled engine.

The only realistic option is to go for a reconditioned engine from either:-

1) http://www.elitevw.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2) VEGE

3) REMTEC (if they still do engines, I havn't heard of them for ages).

Considering where you live, I would suggest that Elite VW are your best option. :)
