Aircooled Heating !

Post by baldiebird »

Hi can anybody help!
This might be a stupid question But!
I have an 1980 2L Aircooled Westfalia and wondered if anybody new how the heating controls on the dash worked?
I have search previous posts and Wiki and have found no reference to the heating controls. My trouble is it doesn't seem to switch off! This is fine if using the van in winter, but should we get a decent summer could prove to be rather annoying.

I bet the cables are seized. Best thing to do is get underneath at the rear(or through the rear wheel arches if you know where to feel  ) and disconnect the heater pods, just follow the pipes up from the heat exchangers. Just unhock the cables and the flaps spring back to cold :ok
