Eventually made it up to the Arctic circle, which at this time of year really feels like another world. A beautiful world of ice & snow & cold. Was minus 15 at night & you can see the glow of the sun all night long........

After the cold North we head South through Sweden & into warm Germany. Called in to the Syncro25 meet. Met some nice people & saw some great vans. Off-roading area looked great fun but the Tristar is just abit too nice.

Girls loved the drive around, showing off & waving at everyone........

Nice one Karl, what route did you take.

Did you do the worlds second longest bridge between Malmo and Kopenhagen? Or did you get the ferry at trelleborg.

That bridge, the Odense Bridge, has two tolls on it! Is it the worlds second longest? Isnt the one in France (Top Gear) longer and there is also the one in China.....

I've looked it up but keep getting different answers

Route........
Sainsbury's home delivery loaded straight into the caravan. A first for the delivery driver!
Mad dash up the M3, M25 to Harwich.
Overnight ferry to Elsberg in Denmark. Nice flat crossing & good buffet. Very civilized way the travel.
Couple of days drive up through Denmark, popped into see the 'Tollund Man', a 4000 year old chap buried in a bog.
Overnight ferry up to Bergen, on Norways West coast. Nice & flat crossing.
Stayed 3 nights in Bergen, rough campsite right in the middle of the city but £20 a night was fair.
Up the west coast through Fjiodland, beautiful landscape but bloody expensive ferries & tunnels, around £25 a pop & somedays you can be doing 3 of them.
One night, slept up near the Josel-bren glacier. Around 9pm it starting snowing, by 11pm it was 2/3" on the road & suddenly thought 'we could be here for days'. Midnight dash down a snowy mountain road, through a blizzard, with a caravan, a 40 metre dead-drop to a frozen lake & your kids on the back-seat is not something I'd like to do every day!!
Spent a couple of Days in Trondhiem, on another dodgy site, burnt out cars & mysterious comings & goings throughout the day & night, free washer/dryer though, made good use of it, we'd never been so clean...ahhhhh!
From there a mad rush North on the E6. Main Norway highway but the further you go the worst it gets. Got the caravan airborne a couple of times on the sudden 1 foot drops in the road.....You just have to learn to look for the skid-marks on the road.
Arctic circle is on a high plateau & totally feels like another country to the rest of Norway. But man it was cold. Got caught be the sunset while out hunting sorry chasing reindeer. As soon as the sun went the wind picked up & the temperature dropped like a stone. Never been so cold & the little one started crying the last 200 metres back to our heated caravan. One night left the heater on all night & we still had ice on the inside.
Up over the border to Sweden for a days skiing, then South, forever south & to the sun, the sun & warmth. Over the next few days it was great to see the snow lose its grip, just had to remember to look at for stray Moose on the highway, Saw 5 in total, morning & evenings is when they are on the move.
Back over to Oslo for another couple of days. had alook at the famous 'eddy the eagle' ski-jump & a poke around the ship the 'Fran'. The ship the helped beat Captain Scot to the South Pole.
Another overnight ferry Oslo to Copenhagen. Quick look around the city & a walk to see 'The little mermaid' but the bloody Chinese had nicked her.
Mad dash on down to Hanover & the Syncro25 event. Afterwards popped in to see some friends before heading to Dunkirk & home.

Tired now!!

It says so in the Denmark guide book. we hope to go over it this summer, expensive though.

The high bridge part of the Oresund Bridge has the longest cable-stayed main span of all bridges in the world. That goes for both road and rail traffic! And, the tunnel part of Øresundsbron is the world's longest underwater tube tunnel, also for both road and rail traffic.

The Oresund Bridge (locally called Øresundsbron) is the bridge that connects Amager and Oresund in Denmark (on the island Zealand) with Skane, Sweden, in a total length of just over 10 miles (16,4 km). This is the road connection between the metropolitan areas of Copenhagen and Malmo.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oresund_Bridge" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Seems to be the longest combination bridge in Europe.

on Megastructures.
