COOLANT HOSE FOR 1.7 DIESEL

Post by jockstrap »

Hi
I have a Sept 1987 1.7 diesel.

On the way to Tenby for the Bank Holiday w/e, the coolant light started flashing. I eventually worked out that the coolant level was low due losing water from a split in the thermostat housing/radiator/header tank/oil cooler house. Fortunately the split was on the thermostat housing and there was enough slack to cut off the split and pull over the housing again. I have tried to find the part number in Wiki and also looked for a replacement at Brickworks, Just Kampers etc but have not been successful.

Can anyone please suggest other sources please.

If the hose is not available any longer is it possible to manufacture a metal connection to allow standard hoses and twice as many jubilee clips/clamps to be used? I am assuming that this hose either collects the heated water or distributes the cooled water?

Ta in advance

We normally have them, just out of stock.
When we are out of stock we knock them off the webshop so we don't upset anyone waiting for parts we don't actually have.
They have been on order for about a month and are due any day, as soo as we have them they will be back on the shop.

Hi again
I have checked the Brickwerks site and this hose has not appeared yet. Can I assume that this is because you are still waiting for delivery.

Hi Jockstrap

Sorry to jump on your band wagon but I want to renew/carry spare engine bay hoses for my 1.6 diesel non turbo. Has w=qnyone here any - or know who I might get some from ???

Hope you get yours -

ps motor factors do stock bends and t couplings and google "coolant hose" and suppliers of hose /angled joints/reducers etc can be obtianed - but I guess it would look a bit of a dogs dinner

JK and VW Heritage dont seem to have any for me

pps sorry for poor spelling
