CV Bolts

Post by CovKid »

I went to VW today (commecial one) to get CV bolts. Fed up with crappy allen key type and wanted torx ones so thought I'd get originals
Bearing in mind I need 24 of them, they had 7 in stock (2000 nationally) but they were a whopping £1.39 per bolt + VAT - over £30 for sure.

Thanked them for their time and got 24 german high tensile torx bolts online for £14.... :D

Not sure what the moral is here, but maybe don't go to VW for bolts. I'll give the parts guy his due, he was helpful, courteous and familiar with them but not sure those 7 bolts will sell tomorrow or even next week. I also noticed GSF delivering parts there!

Had the ssme problem here, all the bolts on my front suspension were rusted quite bad and some of the thread gone so ordered them all from VW.
Never again cost a small fortune.
