If I were to buy.....

Post by Cate »

If I were to buy a 1/2" socket set I would mostly get stuff I dont need, so I may buy the separate components. I have sockets up to 17mm on both my other sets, so the question is....

what would be the most usual and useful sockets to buy for a 1/2" set?

(Second question is.. why can't my computer spell properly?)

i would get 13mm 15mm 17mm 19mm and 22mm(think the wheel nuts are 22) and maybe 10mm and 12mm and dont forget a least one extension and maybe a sparkplug socket ..

could work out cheap poppin into halfords and looking at their sets and working the prices out ,

mine covers 8mm to 30mm two plug sockets , two extensions bars , one T bar , one of those flex extensions and the wrench and the nice box , about £35

Ah but I've got a 3/8" set with all mm up to 17, and I know I have a 19 somewhere and a wheel nut one for 17,19 and my syncro ones, so I'm thinking along the lines of bigger than those sizes, are the wheel hubs usually 32?

i'd get a 24mm long reach socket for oil pressure senders, and a 17mm hex drive socket for the gearbox drain and filler, and as mentioned a 46mm for the rear hub nuts.........
