fitting new dash clock

hi everyone how easy or hard is it to just fit a new anolog clock by replacing the old one (or fix one any common problems?) ive had the whole thing out but would prefer to just replace clock rather that the whole thing
any sugestions

Hi Phil,
you've done the hard bit by removing the whole dash instument panel.
My recolection is it's only a few screws to go. I'vw left my haynes manual at work so I'll update tomorrow unless someone else has answered first

Yeah you can, but fuel & temperature guages also sit with it. Its fairly self-explanatory once you have the clocks off. You need to get the membrane out of the way which I think is partly held down by nuts for voltage stabiliser. To be honest I gave up on clock as modern digital ones are more accurate and its just as easy to put one of those on the dash with sticky velcro or two-sided tape. That way if you ever disconnect your battery, you don't have to reset the clock. I'm tempted to put something more useful in that side of the dash clocks - rev counter for instance.

Haynes manual just says " for an anologue clock, just undo the retaining screws and remove"
if you have access to a fax at work, I can copy the appropriate pages and send them to you.

thanks jake and covkid think i'd prefer a rev counter there instead too, but isnt that even more work! could i jest get a rev counter and swap it for the anolog clock or do i need a whole new set, the digital clock is quite a good idea to
