Power Steering Question

Post by Monkey »

Can anyone tell me the best way to change the Power steering fluid? It looks a funny colour and smells a bit funny to so I’d like to replace it but there’s no mention of a proper way to do this in my manual.

There is no drain or any way of getting all the fluid out with stripping everything. The way i do it is remove the return pipe to the resivoir, block the hole in res, get a container to catch old fluid from pipe, start engine, get someone to work the steering side to side whilst i keep pouring new fluid in the resivoir untill a couple of litres has gone through and then reconnect hose and job done.

It sounds messy but its not if your quick enough.
