I've run mine on Camping Gaz butane in Portugal, (mine is a German spec van) I don't know whether I should have done or not but I did :D Butane is not widely available in the US as far as I know, so possibly the appliances are not rated for use with it?
Replace all of the rubber hoses with new ones, get a CG regulator and I can't see anything should be wrong. Remember to make sure you have ventilation in the floor or the gas cupboard.
What a long strange trip it's been
