Gauges and display problem

Post by toyclean »

Hi all, took my new (to me) out this weekend with the family. Excellent campsire at Graffham btw.

Anyway, the fuel and temp gauge plus indicator lights and all other on that panel had an intermiitent fault, would go off (for some time) then come back on again.

I'm guessing there's a loose connection somewhere but don't know where to start looking. Two things that may, or may not, help you advise me:

1. I left the radio on after driving it home after purchase (went away for a week) so had to take the flat battery out and rcharge it.

2. I've been poking around behind where the stereo would go to check sizes for a new stereo.

When the display's been working the battery warning light has been flashing but it's been starting okay, hope I didn't knacker it!

Anyway, help welcome!! Cheers.

Sounds like a poor connection on the rear of the instrument panel. Take the cover off and try to locate the connector on the rear and see If it needs pushing back on a bit. Usually the case.
