looking at buying my first van been offered a b reg t25 was origanaly a16 diesel 5 speed now has a golf 19 td engine is this a common and reliable conversion wats the pros and cons cheers

A lot of T25ers have converted and used the 1.9D in one form or another as I have. The main reason that I changed from 1.7 KY to 1.9 1Y was because I was fed up stiring the gearbox to climb even the smallest of hills. I can now cruise at 65mph, climb most hills without changing down and 35 plus MPG. Good luck with your new van if you go ahead and buy it..................its a way of life and a bit special and a good useable hobby.
