Removing tinware (2 ltr Aircooled)

Post by Craig G »

Need to remove some bits of tinware to replace and also tidy up other bits....can this be done with engine in situ or is it an engine out job :?

Seems very fiddly...

Depends what you have to remove. Most tinware can be removed easily without engine removal. Other bits can be a pain but all bits can be easily removed if just the rear of the engine is lowered without having to disconnect gearbox etc.

All the tinware can be removed without lowering the engine you will however find one "bar-steward" of a screw  which you will find under where the vacume unit from your airfilter sits. once youve got this out replace it with a bolt much easier to remove with a socket set then.
