LPG not geting through to cooker nor fridge after fill up

HI

I've just filled up with LPG but am not getting gas through to the cooker nor the fridge. The fridge is clicking and wants to ignite but starved of gas I think.

After surfing forums it seems it may be blocked by a bit of crap which gets through if the tank has been empty or is generated by the high pressure force of the re-fill itself.


Any ideas, suggestions would be welcome. It's a Westy 89 Atlantic.

There are some gas taps under the sink in the cooker unit.
Usually red, from memory one turns the gas on and the other 2 are for the fridge or rings depends if you want them seprately or all on.

tank is turned on I presume? Er yeah. It has worked in the past. Where is the on/off switch to check? By the fill up nozzle?
regulator working ok? Dunno. How do I check this?

ok if it was working ok in the past and you haven't turned it off.. then it ain't that

Inside the regulator, there is a little poppet valve controlled by springs and a diaphragm this valve can stick shut if the spring over the diaphragm is busted.

to test the regulator requires you to turn off the tank valve, disconnect the outlet pipe, then slowly open the tank valve, if gas comes out,the regulator is letting gas through presumably at the right bar.
replace the regulator with a working one if it doesn't.

try turning a burner on and turn the corresponding red valve to see if gas comes out

there is a downloadable manual.

what you should always do is screw the brass valve shut when filling as it blows crap around in the tank which can come thru and block the jet on the fridge.

worst case its fridge out time. which is easy
