Double cup holder from Saab seats

Post by Wavehead »

Anyone thought of this before??? I just picked up a Saab interior in order to replace my front seats. As I was about to chuck the rear seats away, I spotted a double cup holder in the arm rest. I was able to remove the cassette quite easily and on brief examination it would appear to be the right fit to slide into the dash just under the drivers side vent. Obviously this would mean cutting into the dash but I am sure with a bit of jiggery pokery it will fit snugly. Anyone else thought of this? [attachment=1]Image0340.jpg[/attachment

I've just bought a Golf and wanted the double cup holder in the back for junior, looking for them on Fleabay and the average price is about £20 delivered!

The front one's slightly cheaper, about a tenner, and very similar to the Saab in size and shape ... plus it keeps the VW lineage

Hadn't seen the e bay ad until now ... point is if you are buying Saab interior for your bus then don't chuck away the cup holder... mind you I still have to work out how to fit it ,, the T25 dash is real hard work to cut into .... plasma torch anyone??? :)

Golf Mk4 one is a great 2 cup setup. Cut the hole and slot in.

Maybe not as plush as a Saab/VW stock part, but how about this?

What you want to do is fit them at an angle of 30°, so that it's nice and level when you're being towed....
