Re: 1.6 ct idle
Could be the fuel cut-off valve or the connection to it. It's located on the bottom left of the carb and screws into it. Sticks out by about an inch and its a cylinder about 2cm across with a cable connected to it (or it should have anyway!). Make sure this clicks when you disconnect and reconnect the connector to it with the ignition on. If it doesn't, check there is power getting to the connector (12 volts or close to it). If you have power there then it's probably the shut-off valve at fault. Unscrew the valve and ensure the plunger is free moving in and out of the solenoid (valve). Reconnect the connector and with the ignition on touch the valve body on a metal area of engine. The plunger should snap inwards whan touched to metal and return out when disconnected. If it doesn't do this and you are sure there is power running to the connector then the valve is at fault and needs replacing.

Re: 1.6 ct idle
More than likely its the idle control valve, Mine used to get blocked up quiteoften.
Nice and easy to remove its on the right hand side of the carb, shoul dbe able to remove with a flat ended scrw driver

Re: 1.6 ct idle
You should see a green lead going to one side of the coil and some black leads to the other. The fuel cut off valve goes to the black lead side of the coil.
